Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back, Welcome Back! Guess Who’s Back?

Yes! It’s me, Christina!

“It’s been a long time. I shouldn’t have left you without a dope beat to step to, step to, step to...”(in my Timberland voice). Well, I don’t have dope beats to step to, but I have dope words that I hope speak to you, speak to you, speak to you… LOL! I crack myself up!

I have been away for a while- six years, to be exact. Well, maybe more like two. I tried to make a comeback in 2024 to begin again, and I even wrote a poem about starting over to encourage not only myself but also others to finish what we started. To have the courage to leap into the present and look forward to the future. But we all know life be LIFING, and my life was LIFING hard at the time.

Giving birth, being rushed to the hospital the night I got home from the hospital due to postpartum preeclampsia (I had no idea that was a thing), almost dying, and being doped up on magnesium. Apparently, too much magnesium can make you feel like Ghost. Everything was tracking soooo sloooow. Oh, and if you have no clue who Ghost is, Ghost is a Marvel character in Ant-Man and The Wasp (great movie by the way). If you have no idea who I am talking about, watch Ant-Man and The Wasp, and you’ll get the idea. The way Ghost moved through space and time is exactly how I felt I was moving, except I was lying down in a hospital bed! It was wild! That’s why I say no to drugs. Hooked on D.A.R.E. worked for me! And yes, I know magnesium is not a drug. It is a mineral, but the way that mineral was pumping through my veins, my Lord!

Anywho, it took me a while to bounce back, and by the time I did, life was on steroids! So, here we are, three years later, beginning again.

As I gear up for what’s ahead, I would love to provide a weekly recap of my blog posts. Every Monday, I will post a blog or series for the week that you can peruse at your leisure. Think of it as a binge recap or a waltz through a library, in search of a good read. However you choose to enjoy it is entirely up to you!

I want you to get reacquainted with Living the Uncommon Life because living an uncommon life (separate from my blog) is a vibe—one you can embrace and be free in.

As I read through some of the blogs, I wanted to update the posts. However, I will keep them as they are for now and provide updates years down the road. The Bible has so much tea, juice, and lemonade, with astounding flavors; I would be doing God a disservice, in my eyes, if I reposted the same posts every year. No shame to pastors or leaders who do that; again, no shots fired, this is simply my own conviction, unless, of course, the Lord says otherwise.

As I close this welcome-back blog post, I want to leave you with something.

Have you ever heard of or wondered about “The Silent Years”? If you are not a Christian, are a Christian who has not read the Bible or the books of Malachi and Matthew, or absolutely have no idea what I am talking about—which is totally fine—here is a quick explanation.

In a nutshell, the Silent Years are the 400 years between the Old Testament and the New Testament. However, those years weren’t really that silent!

Stay tuned to see just how loud they really were and how silence can make or break us.

In the meantime, please enjoy some encouraging words from Living the Uncommon Life.

Be Encouraged!

Medical Disclaimer:

The information shared about postpartum preeclampsia and magnesium is based on my personal experience and is not intended to serve as medical advice. Magnesium sulfate is commonly administered in medical settings to help prevent or treat seizures associated with preeclampsia. Although it is an important and potentially lifesaving treatment, it can cause side effects, and excessive magnesium levels can lead to magnesium toxicity, which requires medical attention. Every person's experience and response to treatment may differ. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding any medical concerns, symptoms, or treatment options. If you experience symptoms of postpartum preeclampsia, seek immediate medical attention.
